The first international flight operated by new-generation airline Vietjet this year departed from Tokyo (Japan) and arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on January 1, reported Vietnam News Agency.

Dinh Viet Son, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and representatives from the Noi Bai airport and Viejet were present at the ceremony to welcome 143 passengers on board the flight.
The airline has resumed the Hanoi-Tokyo route from January 1 with one flight per week, with the frequency expected to be increased in the time ahead.
It has also announced the flight schedules between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Taipei (Taiwan, China), Singapore, Thailand and the Republic of Korea (RoK), which are set for early this year.
Vietjet Managing Director Dinh Viet Phuong said the carrier is ready in terms of resources to reopen all regular international flights in line with COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
The airline is offering free COVID-19 PCR tests for passengers departing from Hanoi and HCM City.
Vietjet is a fully-fledged member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate.
As Vietnam’s largest private carrier, the airline was awarded the highest ranking for safety with 7 stars in 2018 and 2019 by the world’s only safety and product rating website airlineratings.com and listed as one of the world's 50 best airlines for healthy financing and operations by Airfinance Journal in 2018 and 2019.
The airline has also been named as Best Low-Cost Carrier by renowned organizations such as Skytrax, CAPA, Airline Ratings, and many others.
