Vietnam Airlines opens Hanoi - Melbourne direct flight

From June 15, Vietnam Airlines will officially operate a direct route between Hanoi and Melbourne (Australia) by Airbus A350 aircraft with a frequency of 2 flights per week, on Thursdays and Sundays, the national carrier Vietnam Airlines said on April 27.

Accordingly, flight VN779 will depart from Hanoi at 00:05 and land in Melbourne at 12:30; and flight VN778 departs from Melbourne at 15:00 and lands in Hanoi at 21:35.
On the occasion of the opening of the new route, from now until the end of December 31, the airline will offer incentives to customers who buy tickets at the airline's website, mobile application, ticket offices and official agents, at round-trip price from USD645, including taxes and fees.
With the opening of the Hanoi - Melbourne route, Vietnam Airlines affirms its position as the airline with the most direct flights and highest frequency of operation between the two countries between Vietnam and Australia. Accordingly, the airline operates 4 direct routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney and Melbourne cities with a total frequency of up to 18 flights per week.
In 2019, Australia was Vietnam's 12th largest aviation market with a total capacity of nearly 900, passengers, of which Vietnam Airlines transported more than 400,000 passengers. In 2022, in the context that some areas in the world were not yet fully recovered, the number of visitors to and from Australia rose to the 8th position among the largest markets of Vietnam. With an impressive recovery speed, Australia is currently ranked 4th among Vietnam Airlines' most important markets. The airline is actively researching to increase the frequency and open new routes in order to perfect the route product between Vietnam and Australia in the near future./.
