Agro, forestry, fishery export value rises over 14%

The total import-export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached about 82.1 billion USD in Jan-Oct 2022, up 10.2% year on year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Among them, export turnover reached over 44.9 billion USD, up 14.1%; imports were valued at 37.2 billion USD, up 5.8%. Thus, the trade surplus of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 7.7 billion USD, up 83.7%.

In the 10 months, exports of main agricultural products were over 18.8 billion USD, up 7.2%; main forest products, about 14.4 billion USD, up 10.7%; seafood, 9.4 billion USD, up 32.7%; livestock, 326.9 million USD, down 8.7%; and production input, nearly 2 billion USD, up 45.3%.

Since the beginning of the year, there have been 8 products or product groups earning export value of over 2 billion USD, including coffee, rubber, rice, vegetables, cashew, shrimp, pangasius, and wood products.

Many items achieved higher export value than the same period last year, such as: coffee, nearly 3.3 billion USD, up 33.4%; rubber, 2.8 billion USD, up 11.2%; rice, over 2.9 billion USD, up 7.4%; pepper, 829 million USD, up 4.7%; cassava and cassava products, 1.1 billion USD, up 16.5%; pangasius, over 2.1 billion USD, up 76.5%; and shrimp, 3.8 billion USD, up 20.3%.

However, a number of items witnessed reduced export value such as vegetables and fruit, nearly 2.8 billion USD, down 6.5%; cashew nuts, nearly 2.6 billion USD, down 15.3%; and livestock products, 326.9 million USD, down 8.7%.

Regarding export markets, in the 10 months, markets in Asia accounted for 44.1% of the market share; America, 27.9%; Europe, 11.5%; Oceania, 1.7% and Africa, 1.7%./.
