The Quang Ninh province Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Standing Committee and Tien Yen district authority inaugurated the Dai Phong road construction project in Phong Du commune, Tien Yen district, as part of activities to welcome the 85th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Mr Nguyen Dac Vinh, PCC member and First Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Mr Vu Hong Thanh, PCC member and Vice Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee, and Mr Vu Van Dien, Vice Head of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, attended the event.
The 11-km construction project kicked off in November 2015 with a total investment of around VND14.2 billion. Its concrete surface is 3.5 m wide based on the road foundation of 5m, with over 3,000 voluntary working days from local Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members, and soldiers of the province’s armed forces.
By connecting three disadvantaged communes, including Phong Du, Dai Duc, and Dai Thanh, the road also promotes the socio-economic development of the location, and supports sustainable poverty reduction as well.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Vu Hong Thanh congratulated the local authority for running this project, saying that relevant units should quickly complete the road’s supporting parts such as green space, road panels and traffic safety popularizing campaign for local citizens, thus actively contributing to the program on building new-style rural areas.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Standing Board and Quang Ninh province presented certificates of merit to individuals and groups that have made significant contributions to the project./.
