Tourist arrivals to Da Nang surge

The central coastal city of Da Nang greeted 3.23 million tourist arrivals in the first half of the year, a year-on-year rise of 33.2%, in which 1.22 million were foreign tourists, up 72.2%.

The hub is promoting the launch of four regular air routes to Daegu, Incheon (the Republic of Korea), Hongkong (China) and Bangkok (Thailand), and some charter flights.

Da Nang has recently organized the international fireworks festival which helped the city affirm its position as Asia’s Leading Festival and Events Destination. The nearly 2-month-long event proved a great success and left a deep impression on thousands of locals and visitors from both home and abroad.

Some big projects being promoted in the city include the investment in Lien Chieu port, upgrading Tien Sa port, moving Da Nang railway station, improving the marine environment, and investing in and upgrading material facilities and transport infrastructure to prepare for APEC 2017 high-level week.

In the second half of the year, the city will focus on directing departments to prepare and successfully organize the APEC event; further advertising and promoting investment; and increasing planning, managing planning and reviewing Son Tra Peninsula to report to the government leader./.
