Capital city gives support to central residents affected by natural disasters

(CPV) - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong has presented capital to build houses for 76 families; and a flood-resistant school worth VND5 billion; together with 100 gifts to people affected by recent natural disasters in Quang Binh province.

He carried out the activity while leading a delegation to a working trip to Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city on December 14.
Sharing the difficulties and losses of residents, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong stressed that Hanoi had always strictly followed the development of natural disasters. “The city Party Committee launched movements to collect over VND113 billion so far to support the lives of central provinces’ residents,” he said. “In early December, the city handed over VND91 billion to 12 central and Central Highlands localities, including Quang Binh province.”
Expressing his thanks to Hanoi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Hai Chau confirmed that the assistance would contribute to helping the residents stabilize their lives and resume production.
According to Secretary of the Bao Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hieu, the commune has 2,622 families, 40% of whom do aquaculture. Affected by storm No. 9, the commune reported losses of over VND20 billion in boats and fishing machines, with diverse houses, schools and fishing ponds./.
