Accordingly, the airlines’ dossier met current regulations related to documents to confirm capital, deals for aircraft leasing and qualifications of management boards.

On the basis of the appraisal result of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), the Ministry of Transport will report to the Prime Minister to grant the business license for Vietstar.

If receiving the Prime Minister’s nod, Vietstar will be the fifth airline in Vietnam with a chartered capital of VND800 billion (about USD35.87 million). It is expected to make its first flights next year with a fleet of seven aircraft, of which five specialize in passenger transport, using Airbus A320, A321 and Boeing 737; and two specialize in cargo transport, using the Boeing 737-300 Freighter.

The carrier expects to transport over 0.5 million passengers and 32,000 tonnes of cargo in its first year of operation.

As of the first quarter of 2016, Vietnam has four aviation services providers, including Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Vietnam Air Services Company and Viet Jet Air./.
