Vietnam to open tourism promotion offices in UK, Australia

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism’s Tourism Marketing Department is discussing with the Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) opening a tourism promotion office in the UK in the end of 2019 and planning another office in Australia.

In the end of June 2019, Vietnam opened its first tourism promotion office in the Republic of Korea (RoK) – the second biggest tourist market of the country.
The office is inaugurated by the application of public-private partnership. It was set up and managed by Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Lee Chang Kun through social mobilization source.
The second office is in the UK, a large source of visitors, with many visitors having long stays and high spending, is expected help to further step up cooperation between the two countries.
TAB, which has supported the tourism industry in mobilizing financial resources to build booths in Germany and the UK and carry out online marketing activities, will continue helping launch the offices in the UK and Australia.
It comprises experts who have great influence on the tourism industry such as managing directors of hotels, travel companies and transport businesses; and chairpersons of tourism associations.
In the first half of the year, Vietnam greeted nearly 8.5 million foreign tourists, a year-on-year rise of 7.5%, and provided services to about 45.5 million domestic visitors. Total tourism turnover reached VND338.2 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 8.4%./.
