The Thua Thien Hue provincial People’s Council has passed a Resolution adjusting entrance fees to the Hue historical and cultural relics in the Hue Imperial Relic Complex.
Entrance fees to Hue relics to be raised
The move aims to achieve a revenue growth of 5-10% from ticket sales at Hue relics during the 2020-2022 period.
The adjustment will be mainly applied to international and domestic visitors at four sightseeing areas, including: Hue Royal Palace to have entrance fees increase from VND150,000 to VND200,000; Tombs of Kings Tu Duc, Khai Dinh and Minh Mang from VND100,00 to VND150,000; Tombs of Kings Gia Long, Thieu Tri and Dong Khanh from VND40,000 to VND50,000; and Hon Chen Palace, An Dinh Palace and Nam Giao (Esplanade of Sacrifice to the Heaven and Earth) from VND20,000 to VND30,000.
Total fees for the four areas will be reduced from VND650,000 to VND530,000. A number of policies will be applied to the elderly, children, people with disabilities, students, local people and prioritized subjects.
In 2018, the Hue Imperial Relic Complex greeted more than 3.5 million visitors, with entrance fees earning revenue of over VND381 billion.
According to the Economics-Budget Board of the provincial People’s Council, the fare increase is appropriate and does not affect tourists, especially foreigners, while it is necessary to have demand stimulus measures to attract more domestic visitors./.
