From the start of the year, the central province of Khanh Hoa greeted more than 5.6 million tourist arrivals, an increase of more than 116% compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Of this, foreign tourists numbered over 2.79 million, a sharp increase of 142% over a year earlier.
Average room occupancy this month reached over 54%, including over 65% at three to five-star hotels and 36% at one and two-star hotels.
The department said that in the nine months, Chinese continued to top the markets sending tourists to Khanh Hoa with nearly 1.8 million, a sharp rise of 142%.
It was followed by Russia 300,000 (up nearly 104%); the Republic of Korea over 148,000 (up 326%); Thailand over 14,000 (up over 547%) and Malaysia over 34,000 (up 2%).
The central hub set a target of welcoming over 6.8 million tourists staying overnight in 2019; a year-on-year rise of 7%; including 3.3 million foreigners, up 18%. Tourism turnover is expected to reach VND22.5 trillion, up about 9%./.
