Goi cuon, made from pork, shrimp, herbs, rice vermicelli and other ingredients wrapped in rice paper, is served at room temperature.

According to the site, it’s “meat light,” with the flavors of refreshing herbs erupting in your mouth. Dipped in a slightly sweet Vietnamese sauce laced with ground peanuts, it's wholesome, easy and the very definition of “moreish.”

Meanwhile, Pho was described as the national dish with just broth, fresh rice noodles, a few herbs and usually chicken or beef. But it's greater than the sum of its parts -fragrant, tasty and balanced.

Other famous dishes appearing on the list are Massaman curry (Thailand), Neapolitan pizza (Italy), Sushi (Japan), Peking duck (China), Penang assam laksa (Malaysia), and Tom yum goong (Thailand).

This is not the first time CNN honored Vietnamese cuisine. In 2018, CNN listed 40 delicious Vietnamese foods that make people want to come back again.

“Vietnamese cuisine doesn't win any points for complexity. Many of the most popular dishes can be made just as well on the side of the road as in a top-end restaurant,” CNN wrote./.
