Putaleng International Paragliding Competition attracts 80 pilots

The Putaleng XC Open, the first international cross country paragliding competition in Vietnam, will be organized in Tam Duong district, the Northwestern province of Lai Chau, from November 28th to December 1st, 2019.

The event will be attended by 80 pilots from 15 countries and territories worldwide.
The pilots and visitors will start from Si Thau Ban village over 1,400 meters above sea level, a community tourist site of the Dao ethnic group, heading to Tam Duong district stadium.
On the sidelines, there are many cultural and sporting activities performed by local people and artists.
The competition will be organized by the Vietwings Hanoi Paragliding Club and the provincial and district People’s Committee to introduce and promote the natural image of Tam Duong district and cultural identity of the Lai Chau ethnic minority community to international tourists and friends.
It is also recognized by the World Air Sports Federation and Vietnam Air Sport Association.
Tam Duong site is located in North East of Vietnam which separate from other North region by a high mountain range Hoang Lien Son. The site is surrounded by two high mountain ridges with two highest peaks of Vietnam which are Fansipang and Putaleng./.
