Vietnam saw the highest number of foreign tourists in November 2019 with more than 1.8 million, according to General Statistics Office (GSO).

GSO reported this month, foreign arrivals to the country increased 11.8% compared to the previous month, in which foreigners visiting Vietnam by air rose 13% and by road soared 8.6% while those by sea decreased sharply 19.2% due to impacts of the sixth typhoon (Storm Nakri) hitting the central coastal region.
Over the past 11 months, Asian visitors accounted for 79.6% of the total foreign arrivals in Vietnam, up 18.2%.
Major markets sending tourists to the country witnessed upturn, including China (15.1%), the Republic of Korea (22.3%), Japan (15.4%), Taiwan-China (30.2%), Malaysia (12.9%), and Thailand (47.1%).
Meanwhile, downturn was seen some countries and territories, such as Laos (18.3%), Hong Kong-China (37.5%).
The number of European visitors rose 6.3%, while those from America were up 7.4%.
According to GSO, tourism revenue in the 11 months reached an estimated VND41.7 trillion, accounting for 0.9% of the total and increasing by 12.2% year on year because some localities with tourism strength carried out an array of promotion programs in foreign markets.
In 2019, Vietnam set target of welcoming 17.5-18 million foreign tourists./.
