Foreign tourists to Hanoi rise sharply in 9 months

The capital's tourism industry continued to record vigorous growth as it attracted 13.1 million tourist arrivals since the beginning of the year, earning about 40 trillion VND.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in Jan-Sept 2022, Hanoi estimated to greet 13.1 million domestic tourist arrivals and more than 766,000 foreign tourists, a 4-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
Of this, tourist arrivals to the capital city of Hanoi was estimated at 1.48 million in September, down 15.5% month-on-month. This figure included 184,000 foreign tourists and 1.3 million domestic tourists.
The main attraction of the capital’s tourism is still cultural tourism, with well-invested products such as: Sacred Night Tour at Hoa Lo Prison, Night Tour “Decoding the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long”, “French architecture in the heart of Hanoi” walking tour or activities of walking spaces, the old quarters and the craft villages in the suburbs.
In order to attract tourists from now until the end of 2022, the city will further exploit tourism products in the suburbs and mountainous areas, and continue to build a digital tourist map of Hanoi through the website or application system with various utilities and features to meet the information needs of residents and visitors./.
