Foreign tourists to Vietnam hit 2.95 million

Foreign tourists to Vietnam in November 2022 numbered 596,900, up 23.2% from the previous month and a 39.7% fold increase compared to the same period last year, according to General Statistics Office (GSO).

The number of foreign tourists between January and November 2022 reached 2.95 million, a 21.1 fold increase compared to the same period last year, but a decrease of 81.9% compare to the same period of 2019 when there was no COVID-19 pandemic.
Statistics showed that 88.9% of the total foreign tourist number visited Vietnam by air, 11.1% by road and 0.03% by sea.
Revenue from accommodation and food services in the 11 months was estimated at 536.3 trillion VND, up 56.5% over the same period last year. Tourism revenue is estimated at 22.9 trillion VND, 4.1 times higher than the same period last year.
In the last months of the year, the flow of winter visitors is expected to return to Vietnam and the international tourist market is “warming up” as many tourism promotion activities have been organized domestically and internationally.
In mid-November 2022, the Hanoi Department of Tourism presided over and coordinated with Vietnam Airlines to welcome a famtrip group consisting of 12 members from 12 travel agencies from the Australian market.
At the World Travel Market 2022 in London (the UK), the Vietnamese delegation organized many communication and promotion activities, exchanges, meetings, and press conferences to promote tourism./.
