HCMC organizes competition for good tour guides

The competition takes place from December 6-22 with preliminary, semi-final and final rounds.

The content of the competition includes general knowledge of the economic, cultural and social achievements of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country; knowledge of the culture and national history through periods of struggle and national construction; geographical, cultural and historical characteristics of historical sites; and cultural and religious features.

Participants are tour guides who have been granted international and domestic cards and are working officially or as collaborators at travel service businesses, or students studying at tourism departments of tourism training institutions in HCMC and neighboring provinces and cities.

The purpose of the competition is to improve the knowledge and professional qualifications of the tour guides, creating opportunities for them to exchange knowledge and experiences, contributing to honoring the tour guides as well as introducing tourist resources, attractive destinations of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

The special thing in this competition is that the rounds of the competition will be conducted on tourist cars at tourist attractions of the city. At the same time, in addition to cultural and historical knowledge, attitudes and skills of handling situations of tour guides will be considered and assessed.

The final round and award-giving ceremony will take place on December 22./.
