Hello Vietnam Festival connects Indian and Vietnamese people

People in Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang will have the closest access to India through the Hello Vietnam Festival (Namaste Vietnam), scheduled from August 12 to September 12, 2022, according to the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City.

The festival is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence Day, as well as the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam.

The event is co-organized by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City and Innovations India Company.

The festival is being held from from August 12 to September 12, 2022 

Indian Ambassador Pranay Verma and Consul General of India Madan Mohan Sethi will preside over the festival. In addition, Captain Rahul Bali, who has successfully organized Indian festivals globally, will be the main directing officer of the series of events.

Indian Consul General in HCM City Madan Mohan Sethi said the mega festival has been planned in line with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on the importance of Vietnam as a key to India’s Act East policy.

The first ever Namaste Vietnam Festival will be a meaningful occasion for the two countries to learn more about each other. In addition to cultural activities and free movie screenings, some famous Indian artists and actors will also visit HCM City on this occasion.

Among those who will walk the red carpet is a big delegation from the Indian Film industry led by award-winning filmmakers like Rahul Mittra, Umesh Shukla, Rahul Rawail, Kumar Mangat, Shree Narayan Singh, Mikhil Musale, Rajesh Mapuskar, and Chandrakant Singh, according to American Bazaar.

From August 13 to 20, the Hello Vietnam Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City with an array of activities such as traditional Vietnamese-Indian Ao Dai performance, art performance, screening of special films of India, and a conference on tourism promotion between India and Vietnam.

India is one of the potential visitor exchange markets of Vietnam and one of the leading important trade partners of Vietnam.

The number of Indian visitors to Vietnam increased from 85,000 to 169,000 in 2016 - 2019. The Indian tourist market rose to Top 16 with its highest number of international visitors to Vietnam in 2019./.
