The ancient town of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam continues to impress tourists as the famous US travel magazine Travel + Leisure has just listed it among the world’s best cities in 2022.

With 88,9221 points out of 100, Hoi An ranked 20th on the list. Readers ranked the cities based on factors such as the quality of hotels and restaurants, cultural heritage, attractions, cuisine, and COVID-19 protocols.
Hoi An used to be a busy international commercial port from the 16th to 19th centuries, attracting merchant ships from China and Japan. It is a World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO.
This year, Oaxaca in Mexico was voted the best city with a score of 92.96.
Southeast Asia has 3 representatives on this list. In addition to Hoi An, the tourist town of Ubud on the island of Bali (Indonesia) is listed among the top 3 with 91.73 points while Chiang Mai city (Thailand) found itself voted in the top 10 with 90.70 points.
India is home to many of the best cities in the top 10, namely Jaipur (8th) and Udaipur (10th). Japan is represented by the city of Osaka in 9th place.
The list of world’s 25 best is under the framework of the annual World’s Best Awards.
