Macau (China) resumes flights to Da Nang in March

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macau (China) announced that it will resume flights to Southeast Asian countries in March, specifically flights to Manila (the Philippines), Chiang Mai (Thailand) and Da Nang (Vietnam).

The move aims to serve the increasing number of visitors to the Macau Special Administrative Region (China).

The government of the special zone is actively implementing tourism promotion activities abroad, and at the same time, its tourism and shipping industries also have close exchanges to jointly deploy incentive programs and reduce tourism prices.

Air Macau expected the tourism industry in this special zone would recover quickly. The carrier has taken the lead in resuming flights to five destinations: Tokyo, Hanoi, Seoul, Bangkok and Taipei (China). Passenger load from January 7 to February 8 ranges from 31% to 83%, with the destination attracting the most visitors being Bangkok (Thailand).

It also plans to increase the frequency of flights to these five destinations in March, to resume destinations such as Osaka, Kaohsiung and Da Nang, and to add Singapore and more international destinations in 2023.

During the last Lunar New Year (from January 22-29, the total number of passengers arriving at Macau International Airport reached over 76,000, recovering 31%, of which the number of visitors from mainland China was 68,000, reaching 71% of that before the outbreak./.
