| Numerous activities to promote culture and tourism were held during the Quang Nam National Tourism Year. |
Tourism revenue in 2022 is estimated at 3.8 trillion VND, an increase of 8 times compared to the same period last year.
The National Tourism Year 2022, the theme “Quang Nam – A Green Tourism Destination”, officially ended with 212 events and activities, including 10 national activities organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ministries, departments and central branches.
Quang Nam is in charge of organizing a series of 64 events and activities, while 42 provinces and centrally-run cities organized 138 events and activities for the Tourism Year.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh said that the National Tourism Year 2022 was an opportunity for Quang Nam, provinces, and cities nationwide to promote cultural heritages, natural resources and landscapes, and specific tourism products to domestic and international visitors.
The event has raised public awareness on the importance of a green environment for the development of sustainable tourism and contributed to implementing following the directions of the Government on reopening tourism activities under the new normal, with the spirit of “Adapting safely, flexibly and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic effectively,” he added.
The National Tourism Year was one of the important events contributing to the reopening of tourism activities in the country. In 2022, Vietnam received around 3.5 million foreign visitors. The total number of domestic tourists was more than 101 million. The industry eyes revenue of 495 trillion VND (21 billion USD).
After Quang Nam, the southern central coastal province of Binh Thuan will host the National Tourism Year 2023 themed “Binh Thuan – green convergence”.
The National Tourism Year 2023 will include more than 200 events, including 13 national events organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; 31 programs held by Binh Thuan Province and 164 activities hosted by 41 provinces and cities throughout the country./.
