Southern city to have 12 more bus routes

Twelve new bus routes including 4 minibus routes, 4 high-quality routes, and 4 intercity routes have been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to add to the city’s bus network, after a proposal by the city Department of Transport.

According to the previous proposal, the city Department of Transport said that 4 minibus routes and 4 high-quality bus routes could operate on routes with small cross-sections to connect to new urban areas, industrial parks, transport links, satellite cities, connections with mass passenger transport routes and other modes of transport.
At the same time, the new bus routes also contribute to increasing the density of the bus network in the city, reducing traffic congestion and building urban civilization.
The 4 intercity bus routes will help strengthen the connection between Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, contributing to promoting economic and social development, and at the same time improving the quality of public passenger transport services by bus.
According to the project of enhancing public passenger transport, combined with controlling the use of personal motor vehicles in Ho Chi Minh City, in 2021 - 2030, the southern hub will expand the bus network, ensuring connections to urban areas and traffic hubs and completing projects with large volume transport such as metro and rapid bus./.
