Accordingly, in July, 2022, Vietnam welcomed 352,600 international visitors, an increase of 49% compared to the previous month.
In the first 7 months of 2022, the number of international visitors totalled 954,600, an increase of nearly 10 times compared to the same period last year. With this result, the average monthly growth rate in the 7 months reached 62%.
Among the top 10 markets sending tourists to Vietnam, except for the US market, the remaining 9 markets are from Asia and the Pacific region.
Specifically, the Republic of Korea sent the most tourists to Vietnam with 196,200, an increase of 903.7% over the same period. The US ranked second with 102,900 arrivals, up 5,382%.
In the Northeast Asian region, Japan sent 46,000 tourist arrivals, up 794.6%; Taiwan (China), 36.700 arrivals, up 395.9%; and China, 53,000 arrivals, up 34.5%.
Among the top 10 markets, Southeast Asia has 4 markets: Cambodia with 60,400 arrivals; Singapore with 50,500 arrivals; Thailand with 39,700 arrivals; and Malaysia with 35,900 arrivals.
For markets from Europe, in spite of small number of tourists, they saw sharp increase in the growth rate of tourists. In which, the UK had the largest number of tourists with 26,400 arrivals, up 2,958.6 %, France 23,400 arrivals, up 2,963.7%, and Germany with 23,600 arrivals, up 3,897.1%./.
