Additional VND6 billion to support livelihoods for communities affected by Typhoon No. 3

On November 7, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross, led by Vice President Nguyen Hoang An, visited remote highland districts in Cao Bang Province to provide sustainable livelihood support for households impacted by Typhoon No. 3.

The delegation delivered breeding cows, valued at VND10 million each, to 150 ethnic Tay and Nung households, totaling VND1.5 billion in support. This gesture reflects the heartfelt contributions of the people of Ho Chi Minh City, facilitated by the Binh Tan and Go Vap District Red Cross , to help communities in Ha Quang, Bao Lac, Bao Lam and Nguyen Binh districts rebuild their lives after significant loss and hardship.
Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross President Tran Truong Son stated that in response to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s call for support, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross will organize delegations to visit and assist recovery efforts in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen provinces following Typhoon No. 3.
Led by the President and Vice Presidents of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross, these delegations, including representatives from Red Cross chapters across eight districts, will provide livestock to 600 disadvantaged households across the four provinces. The VND6 billion total, funded by Ho Chi Minh City residents, represents a community-driven effort in solidarity, offering mutual support to help families overcome challenges and stabilize their lives after the typhoon./.
