In 2019, Vietnamese airlines carried nearly 55 million passengers, an increase of more than 11% from the previous year, according to a representative of Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.

This year, Vietnam’s aviation market continued to see strong growth with 78.3 million passengers (including both domestic and international airlines) and 1.25 million tons of goods; up 11.8% in passengers and 3% in goods against last year.
As of November 2019, Vietnamese airlines operated 212 aircraft, a rise of 44 aircraft against last year. By the end of November 2019, domestic air carriers also operated more than 295,000 flights, a year-on-year rise of 9.4%.
The number of passengers through airports reached 115.5 million, up 11.8% against 2018, while that of goods was 1.5 million, up 11%.
On time flights numbered 255,000, making up 86.1% of the total, down 0.2 points year on year, and the number of cancelled flights was 699, making up 0.24%, down 0.04 points.
The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam asked airlines to determine their goal of having on-time flights as the top priority, invest more resources, and improve flight management capacity to reduce the rate of delayed and cancelled flights./.
