Lao Cai Department of Tourism officially launched

The establishment of the Department of Tourism aims to facilitate the concentration of resources, planning and building infrastructure, and fostering human resources to promote tourism development appropriate with its potential, identified as a key economic sector of the locality.

The Department of Tourism has 4 specialized departments, 24 civil servants and 2 contract employees. The Board of Directors has 1 Director and 1 Deputy Director. The Tourism Promotion and Information Center was transferred to the Department of Tourism in its original state with 30 staff members.

Mr. Ha Van Thang, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was appointed as the Director of the Department of Tourism.

According to Mr. Ha Van Thang, in the immediate future, the Department of Tourism will focus on improving the quality and consolidating existing tourism products; disbursing policies to support tourism recovery and development; implementing sub-projects under national target programs; promoting regional linkages; and cooperating with major travel agencies to attract tourists to Lao Cai./.
