Notably, during the 9 days, the number of domestic tourists exceeded the number of tourists in December 2021 (5.2 million arrivals). Some destinations had a sudden increase in the number of tourists, exceeding or approaching the number of tourists on the occasion of the New Year of the Rat 2020.

Most notably, Tay Ninh attracted the most tourists with 595,000 arrivals with room occupancy of about 65%. Ba Ria - Vung Tau welcomed about 420,000 tourists, its total revenue reached 358 billion; and room occupancy of 3-5 star hotels reached 97%.

The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong received nearly 300,000 travelers, including more than 120,000 travelers staying overnight, an increase of over 128.9% over the same period last year, and capacity of accommodation establishments reached over 95%.

The northern province of Quang Ninh welcomed about 290,000 visitors, a three-fold increase over the same period last year; total revenue reached about 400 billion VND; room occupancy of 4-5 star hotels was 80-90%. Lao Cai welcomed about 86,000 tourist arrivals, of which 74,388 tourists visited Sa Pa.

This year, beach resort tourism continues to attract a large number of tourists. In which, Kien Giang welcomed 98,000 visitors with the room occupancy rate being about 56.3%; Phu Quoc alone received 79,000 visitors with the room occupancy rate being 71.3%. The central province of Khanh Hoa welcomed 98,610 visitors, a 2.5-fold increase year on year, and the capacity of accommodation establishments was estimated at more than 72.8%.

The three major tourist centers of the country, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang, also jubilantly welcomed tourists. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 280,000 tourists, Hanoi greeted about 105,000 tourists, and Da Nang received 35,000 tourists.

This is a sign of prosperity right from the beginning of 2022 for the tourism industry after being heavily affected by the COVID-19 epidemic for a long time, opening positive recovery prospects for this year./.
