At first, the ships run with a frequency of 3 trips a week, returning to Con Dao Island on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The return to the mainland (Vung Tau) operates on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
A representative of the Phu Quoc High Speed Ship Joint Stock Company said that in the immediate future, the company’s ships will operate at 50% capacity to probe the travel needs of passengers.
The Vung Tau - Con Dao high-speed ship route opened in 2019, with the starting point being Cau Da Port, Vung Tau City to Ben Dam port, Con Dao district.
High-speed ships are designed according to European standards, carrying about 600 passengers. The ships can withstand waves of level 7, 8 with maximum speed of 60km per hour.
The reopening of the Vung Tau-Con Dao high-speed ship route contributes to diversifying the types of transport to Con Dao./.
