With the promotion of communication work, especially the “Live fully in Vietnam” campaign, the number of international searches about Vietnam’s tourism has increased sharply since the beginning of 2022.
Google Destination Insights shows the number of people searching for tourism information on Vietnam underwent a gradual increase at the beginning of December 2021, before skyrocketing in late December 2021 and into early January.
Search volume as of January 1, 2022 increased 222% over the previous month and increased 248% over the same period last year.
From the beginning of January 2022 until now, the international search volume for Vietnam’s aviation has been maintained at a very high level, increasing by 425% compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the search volume for accommodation facilities also started to increase significantly from the beginning of December 2021 and rose by 42% at the beginning of January, 2022.
People looking for tourism information in Vietnam mostly came from the United States, Australia, Russia, France, Singapore, India, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada.
This tool also indicates that the top 10 most searched domestic destinations were Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet, Da Nang, Hoi An, Da Lat, Quy Nhon, and Vung Tau.
