During 9 days of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai welcomed more than 86,000 visitors; over 15,000 visitors higher than the set target, according to the Lao Cai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Vietnam welcomed over 19,700 international arrivals in January 2022, up 11.2 per cent year on year, mainly due to the pilot tourism programmes and resumption of regular flights, according to the General Statistics Office.
