Vietnam in foreigners’ eyes

On the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7), the Lao press reported boldly on this important historical event of the fraternal Vietnamese people.

On the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, General Chansamone Chanyalath, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos, gave an important speech on Lao news and media agencies.

The Mexican media emphasized the key factors that made up the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu, including the spirit of solidarity of the Vietnamese people.

Some precious information about the Dien Bien Phu Campaign 70 years ago will be revealed for the first time in a documentary titled “Dien Bien Phu – Nhin tu nuoc Phap” (Dien Bien Phu – A view from France) that will be aired by Vietnam Television (VTV) on May 7.

Leading IT services provider FPT Software and automotive manufacturer VinFast of Vietnam were honoured at the 14th Annual “Jewels of Asia” Awards Gala hosted by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) in Virginia state of the US on May 2.

On May 2, a number of major Argentinian newspapers published articles about Vietnam's Dien Bien Phu victory, affirming that it not only influenced Vietnam's history but also changed the world situation, and adding that the victory stemmed from the strength of the great unity of the people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.

The Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7, 1954, was a triumph of not only the Vietnamese people but also the peoples of Laos and Cambodia who allied to fight against a common enemy to liberate the nations, affirmed General Chansamone Chanyalath, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister.

On April 30, Argentina's electronic website Acercandonos Cultura published an article about Vietnam's national reunification, an important historical event marking the complete liberation of the South and the end of the Vietnamese people’s resistance war against American imperialism.

Cuba's Latin American news agency Prensa Latina on April 30 published the article "Vietnam glows red to celebrate the Day of Southern liberation and national reunification," highlighting images of red flags flying with yellow stars over the streets.

Russia's TV channel Russia-24 aired a documentary on the country's international aerospace cooperation, including with Vietnam, on April 29.

Although 49 years have passed, Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Jesús Germán Faría Tortosa has clearly remembered the day when he learnt that the south of Vietnam was liberated.

(CPV) - According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first quarter, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached over 4.6 million arrivals, an increase of 72% over the same period in 2023. An article on L’Unione Sarda news website of Italy honours the braveness of Vietnam through the Dien Bien Phu Victory 70 years ago.

The famous Asian travel magazine DestinAsian has just announced a list of the most beautiful islands or archipelagos in Asia and the best cities in Asia as voted by its readers. Vietnam has two representatives, Phu Quoc and Ho Chi Minh City, on the list.

Vietnam is one of the most important partners of Brazil in Southeast Asia, Eduardo Paes Saboia, Secretary for Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, has stated at the Vietnam-Brazil meeting recently held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Brasilia.
